History and Training

Mike complete formal training in painting and decorating at City & Guilds College in London, before completing an apprenticeship with Hackney Council and Greater London Council. 

In 1980, in a sign of his excellent painting and decorating skills, Mike was awarded Apprentice of the Year for Greater London Council.

Following his apprenticeship, Mike continued with Greater London Council working on domestic interior and exterior properties.

In 1981 Mike joined a small building firm based in Central London, working on high profile commercial properties such as the Embassy of Spain, the Serious Fraud Office and the office of The British Veterinary Association. References for this work are available upon request.

In 2002, Mike founded M G Connolly Decorating Services working independently on domestic and commercial properties in North London and the surrounding area

In 2006, M G Connolly Decorating Services relocated to Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire and continues to serve both domestic and commercial interior and exterior properties in Hertfordshire, Essex and London.
